Last year, manufacturers introduced 26 new soy-based new products thanks in part to support from the United Soybean Board (USB) and soybean checkoff. The work of the checkoff allows soy to gain access into new markets, including plastics, coatings, printing inks, adhesives and other emerging industrial opportunities.

 

A significant milestone was recently reached with Ford Motor Company’s announcement that soy-based polyurethane foam will be used in seating applications for the 2008 Ford Mustang. For more than a decade now, the United Soybean Board (USB) and soybean checkoff have been funding the development of soy-based products and technology.
As spring field work and crop planting gets underway, the United Soybean Board (USB) and soybean checkoff encourage farmers to use soy biodiesel in their tractors, vehicles and other diesel-powered equipment.

USB recently announced the winners of the USB Outstanding Achievement Award and USB Excellence Awards at Commodity Classic in Tampa, Fla. The awards given by USB recognize the commitment of certain individuals or companies who have made an outstanding, positive impact on the soybean industry.
Thanks to funding from the United Soybean Board (USB) and soybean checkoff, twenty-two new soy-based products hit the market in 2006. As the soybean checkoff builds partnerships with industry, soy-based products continue to find success in five market areas: plastics, lubricants, coatings and printing inks, adhesives and emerging industrial opportunities.

The more than decade-long use of soy biodiesel and other soy-based bioproducts in Yellowstone National Park proves that renewable fuel and other products perform well in some of the harshest environments.
With the start of spring, many people are dusting off lawn mowers and touch up their homes, yards and cars as usual. However, this year consumers may notice the cost of petroleum-based products, like cleaners, oils and building supplies, are rising. These costs have caused many people to look for alternatives, and soy is providing the answers.
